The Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants has selected Tulsa as one of five cities statewide to host a professional issues update meeting. OSCPA members are invited to attend the session on Nov. 8 at the Hilton Tulsa Southern Hills to learn about the latest professional topics facing CPAs and the accounting profession – and earn three hours of continuing professional education. Although there is no cost, advance registration is required.
Each program will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 8:20 p.m. There will be three 50-minute sessions with two 20-minute breaks.
The topics of the program will be wide ranging and will include: The Changing Profession, Peer Review Transparency, Regulation of Interstate Practice, Practicing across state lines – what you need to know, Private Company Financial Reporting, Legislation and Politics, Non-CPA Ownership, Compilations and Agreed Upon Procedures, as well as other topics such as SOX aftermath, practice management issues, AICPA work/life study, university and college accounting programs, computerized CPA examination and society involvement.
