Walmart Renovates 10 Oklahoma Stores

Walmart renovates 10 stores in Oklahoma, giving area shoppers a glimpse of the company’s next generation of store design and customer experience.
Among the changes are a new layout, wider aisles, low-profile shelving, new interior paint scheme, better lighting and signage.
“We’ve been listening to our customers and are redesigning our stores to make shopping at Walmart even easier,” said Henry Jordan, regional general manager. “We are excited to bring an improved and consistent shopping experience to our customers.” Over the next five years, Walmart plans to renovate approximately 70 percent of its existing stores across the country. Oklahoma Walmart stores being renovated this year include the Tulsa store at 3116 S. Garnett Road. Stores in Tulsa, Mustang and Oklahoma City have completed their remodels.
The new design is based on feedback from customers and features a clean, open and bright new look.
“The renovations go far beyond a fresh coat of paint and a new logo,” Jordan said. “They are a signal to our customers that we are listening to their feedback and putting what they need at the heart of our stores. We are working to make their shopping experience at Walmart the best it can be.” The remodeled stores will feature a more open shopping environment with wider aisles that contain no product displays. Walmart is also aligning the departments that customers shop most frequently, making it quicker to purchase everyday items.
