We See Street People

The Tulsa Convention and Visitors Bureau is working to make sure downtown Tulsa exudes that Oklahoma hospitality when the time comes to open the BOk Center in September.
TCVB senior vice president Suzann Stewart is recruiting Tulsans to set up posts throughout downtown during events to help those unfamiliar with the area find the hot spots.
Stewart is looking for 100-150 good men and women to man the posts, armed with maps and information on local goings on, before and after the first four to six weeks of events after the BOk Center opening. About 50 volunteers will be needed for each event.
“It’s going to be lots of fun, and it will be good to help people feel a little more comfortable downtown if they haven’t been down here very often,” Stewart said.
Stewart began recruiting this month and plans training for late July or early August. All volunteers will be in the running for prizes and giveaways, courtesy of the TCVB.
Those interested in volunteering should send an e-mail to Stewart at suzannstewart@tulsachamber.com.
