There’s some good money waiting for the team of Arkansas college students who can come up with the most promising business plan.
Capital Resource Corp., the nonprofit educational arm of Arkansas Capital Corp. in Little Rock, is offering a $30,000 first prize in its first Governor’s Award for Entrepreneurial Development. The second prize is $20,000, and the third prize is $10,000 — no strings attached, according to Sam Walls, executive vice president of ACC.
“We are trying very hard to make a statement by going about this in a first-class way,” Walls said.
Capital Resource is seeking corporate sponsorships for this year’s and future competitions
The competition for teams of up to five undergraduate students at any four-year college or university in the state is part of Capital Resource Corp.’s effort to “make Arkansas second to none in business development environment,” Walls said. The nonprofit subsidiary was established in 1999.
Colleges and universities must notify ACC of their intent to compete by Wednesday. The student teams must submit their business plans for preliminary review by March 30, and semifinalists will be announced on April 16.
