Bank of the Ozarks has announced plans to open a branch in the new Wal-Mart Supercenter under construction in Bryant and in a stand-alone branch at the intersection of Maumelle Boulevard and Audubon Drive.
The in-store branch should open in about 30 days, assuming regulatory approval. An application is on file with the Arkansas State Bank Department.
The Maumelle branch will open in the first half of 2002, according to a company announcement.
Two other Bank of the Ozarks branches are under construction at Stagecoach Road and Otter Creek Parkway in Little Rock and at 2520 Zero St. in Fort Smith. They should open in the next 60 days, bringing the number of Bank of the Ozarks locations to 26.
Bank of the Ozarks (Nasdaq:OZRK) had assets of $827 million as of Dec. 31. Shares of the bank remained flat today, trading at $13.56.
