LITTLE ROCK – A Little Rock woman who founded a public education foundation has been named to Arkansas’ Board of Education.
Gov. Mike Beebe on Friday appointed Vicki Saviers of Little Rock to the state board. Saviers’ term expires June 30, 2016 and she replaces board member Randy Lawson.
Saviers, 54, was the founder and executive director of the Public Education Foundation of Little Rock. She still serves on the foundation’s board.
Beebe has appointed five of the nine members of the state Board of Education.
