Garver LLC, the state’s largest engineering firm, is opening its 11th office — and its first in Florida.
Garver has acquired Jenkins Engineering Inc. of Destin, Fla., to provide full-service engineering services. No details of the deal were disclosed.
The eight-personnel office is directed by Scott Jenkins and supported by project managers, engineers, CAD technicians, surveyors and construction inspectors.
“This new Florida office expands our market and increases our presence in the Southeast Region,” said Garver President Brock Johnson. “The diverse services provided by Jenkins Engineering strengthen our multi-disciplined capabilities and offer our current and future clients access to a greater depth of knowledge and technical expertise.”
The deal puts Garver’s total personnel just under 300 employees. The company has a goal of 400 employees as it seeks to increase its regional presence. Garver now has a total of 144 professional engineers, of which 90 are in Arkansas.
Garver offers a full range of engineering services, handling projects in fields such as transportation, water, aviation, energy, federal, development, surveying, and construction management and observation.
The new Florida office specializes in civil engineering, transportation design, water and wastewater engineering, planning and permitting, construction and inspection management and surveying.
