GES Inc. Buys Assets of the Former Harvest Foods on Cantrell for $225,000

Last week, GES Inc. of Marianna, which operates Food Giant grocery stores, bought most of the assets of the former Harvest Foods in Little Rock’s Tanglewood Shopping Center for around $225,000.

GES is expected to open the unnamed grocery store by March 1, according to our grocery store watcher.

The 34,000-SF building had been part of Cranford’s Fresh World of White Hall for a few months before it closed as a result of the Affiliated Foods Southwest Inc. of Little Rock bankruptcy in May.

We also learned that a representative from GES on Thursday was measuring the shelves at the other former Cranford’s store at 10901 N. Rodney Parham Road, which also had been a Harvest Foods.

We weren’t able to reach the president of GES, Steve Edwards.
