A Little Rock country music radio station received a pat on the back last week.
The Country Music Association nominated KSSN-FM, 95.7, more affectionately known as Kissin’ 96, as the Medium Market Station of the Year.
The nominees will be judged on air checks, ratings history, community involvement and format leadership.
The association selects five finalists for CMA Radio Station of the Year in four market categories: small, medium, large and major. (Wouldn’t it be nice if Starbuck’s named their sizes so simply?)
But, you should know, this isn’t KSSN’s first rodeo. The station won Medium Market Station of the Year in 1993 and 2005.
“To hear that we have been nominated is very exciting news,” Chad Heritage, KSSN program director and afternoon drive-time air personality, said in a news release. “It’s always an honor to be recognized by your peers and to be alongside the other outstanding stations that were nominated in our category.”
The winners will be notified mid-October and acknowledged at the annual CMA Awards.
