The Little Rock Marathon announced last week that KARK-TV, Channel 4, signed on to be the official broadcast sponsor of the 2010 Little Rock Marathon Training Program.
KARK will offer Internet coverage of the training program as well, including pre-race reports.
For the lazier Arkansans, your Outtakes substitutes included, the Little Rock Marathon is a very long race that takes place in March and is sponsored by Little Rock Parks & Recreation.
“We couldn’t be more pleased about the partnership with KARK,” Gregg Herning, Little Rock Marathon chairman, said in a news release. “KARK provides an ideal flagship for both race weekend coverage and pre-race education for our 10,000 participants.”
“One of the main things we concentrate on here at KARK is getting involved in our community,” Managing Editor Greg Yarbrough said in a news release. “We know thousands of people from around our state and the country come here every spring to participate in this event. We’re happy to help the athletes keep a healthy lifestyle and prepare for the race by providing training tips and weather forecasts each week on KARK 4 and arkansasmatters.com.”
The first official group training was held Oct. 3. Maybe we’ll catch the next one.
