Mark Darr Joins Race for Arkansas Lieutenant Governor

LITTLE ROCK — A restaurant owner from Springdale says he’s running for lieutenant governor.

Mark Darr, who owns The Mad Pizza Co. in Rogers, announced his decision Tuesday night. Last March, the Republican formed an exploratory committee for a potential run.

Darr said he’s met his fundraising goal for the end of the year and has $152,000 cash on hand for his bid.

Lt. Gov. Bill Halter is running for re-election but has also been mentioned as a potential candidate for the U.S. Senate. Halter has said he’s focusing on raising money for his re-election but has not said whether he might challenge Sen. Blanche Lincoln, a fellow Democrat.
